Optus Mobile Services Interrupted

Optus customers have been experiencing issues making and receiving calls across Australia this morning (Friday August 3). Optus has stated that data connections were up during the outage, commenting that the technical hardware failure had only impacted phone calls.

Complaints came thick and fast over social media, prompting a response from Optus at around 9am – telling customers that they had identified the fault and were working on a solution.

Optus made the following comment: “We’re currently investigating an issue with the network that is impacting some customers (fault reference 19098850)

“We apologise for the inconvenience this would be causing you,

“Our network team are working with the highest severity and hope to provide an update asap.”

At 10:07AM Optus tweeted that the problem had been resolved.
