Oppo has lifted the curtain on key features of its upcoming Find N6 foldable smartphone ahead of its official launch in March, confirming a 200MP Hasselblad-tuned camera and showcasing what it claims is one of the flattest folding displays yet.

In a rare move, the company invited reporters to tour its production line, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how the Find N6 is built. Oppo says the device is the result of three years of research and development, involving dozens of prototypes before arriving at the final design.

A central focus has been minimising the display crease, a common issue with foldable phones that can become more pronounced over time with repeated use. To address this, Oppo has introduced an enhanced assembly process featuring numerous additional inspection stages. Each component is installed with a precision tolerance of just 0.03mm, according to the company.

Durability testing has also been intensified. Oppo has deployed automated machines that repeatedly open and close the device up to 300,000 times. One unit demonstrated to media representatives had already undergone 170,000 folding cycles, with the crease reportedly remaining difficult to detect under normal viewing conditions.

The Find N6 has also reportedly performed strongly in independent testing by TÜV Rheinland, where it is said to have achieved top certification results and delivered one of the flattest displays seen on a foldable handset to date.

Display specifications have not yet been formally confirmed, but industry leaks suggest the internal folding screen will measure 8.12 inches diagonally, while the outer cover display will come in at 6.62 inches.

Camera capabilities appear to be a major selling point. An Oppo employee confirmed on Weibo that the Find N6 will feature a 200MP sensor as part of a quad-camera system tuned in partnership with Hasselblad. The company claims it will be the only foldable smartphone to offer a Hasselblad-optimised 200MP setup. The device is also expected to debut Oppo’s new Danxia lens technology.

Additional reports indicate the handset will include a 50MP periscope telephoto camera and a 50MP ultra-wide lens, further strengthening its photography credentials. Oppo has also confirmed the existence of a Find N6 Satellite Edition, although specific details about its satellite connectivity features have yet to be shared.

Under the bonnet, the Find N6 is widely expected to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with a 6,000mAh battery supporting 80W fast charging.

Australian pricing has not been announced, but given the premium positioning and specifications, the Find N6 is anticipated to retail above A$2,000 when it reaches the local market.

With a focus on display refinement, high-resolution imaging and flagship-grade performance, Oppo is positioning the Find N6 as a serious contender in the increasingly competitive foldable smartphone segment.
