Oppo Confirms Find X9 Ultra Global Launch, Positioning Phone as a “Next-Gen Camera”
Oppo has confirmed that its next flagship smartphone, the Find X9 Ultra, will launch globally later this year, marking the first time the company’s ‘Ultra’ tier expands beyond China.
The announcement was made during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, where Oppo executives highlighted the device’s strong focus on professional-grade photography.
The company is pitching the handset as a camera-centric flagship, with the tagline “Built to Be Your Next Camera.”
Oppo Europe CEO Elvis Zhou said the device will feature the most advanced imaging system the company has ever developed, continuing its long-running partnership with Swedish camera brand Hasselblad.
“The true meaning of Ultra is not about having an ultra phone. It is about delivering an Ultra camera,” Zhou said during a media briefing at the event.

The Find X9 Ultra represents a major shift for Oppo’s premium lineup. Previous Ultra models were largely limited to the Chinese market, but the company confirmed the new flagship will launch internationally, including Europe and the UK, with more regions expected to follow.
However, local availability remains uncertain. An Oppo spokesperson indicated there are currently no confirmed plans for an Australian release, meaning the device may not officially reach the local market at launch.
While Oppo has yet to reveal full specifications, industry leaks suggest the phone will focus heavily on imaging performance.

The device is expected to feature a quad-camera system that could include a 200-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 200-megapixel 3x periscope telephoto lens and a secondary 50-megapixel periscope camera. A 50-megapixel front-facing camera is also rumoured.
The Find X9 Ultra may also feature a 6.82-inch 2K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and running ColorOS 16 based on Android 16.
Battery capacity is tipped to sit around 7,050mAh, with support for 80W wired and 50W wireless charging.
A precise launch date, pricing and regional availability are expected to be announced closer to release, with speculation pointing to a China debut in late March followed by a global rollout in April or May.

The Find X9 Ultra will compete directly with other camera-focused flagships expected this year, including the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Vivo X300 Ultra.
The announcement follows months of teasers from Oppo executives.
In December, head of the Find series Zhou Yibao described the handset as “unprecedentedly powerful,” while earlier leaks suggested the device could feature a dual-periscope zoom system designed to push smartphone photography further.
In ChannelNews’ review of the Find X9 Pro, Oppo’s Hasselblad-tuned cameras and battery life were already standout features.
