Oppo’s upcoming Find X9 Ultra could set a new benchmark for flagship camera phones in 2026, with leaks pointing to a unique dual periscope telephoto setup.

According to reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, the Find X9 Ultra will stand apart from the rest of the Find X9 lineup.

While the standard and Pro models launch in China on 16 October, the Ultra is tipped to arrive later, featuring Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and camera hardware not seen in Oppo’s other models.

Despite previous suggestions that the Ultra might share its main sensor with Samsung’s upcoming flagship, the newer leaks claim the Find X9 Ultra will feature a 200MP Sony IMX09E main camera paired with two periscope telephoto lenses.

Last year’s Find X8 Ultra (pictured above) also included a dual periscope design, but Oppo is said to refine this system further in the X9 Ultra, making it the only phone in the range to feature it.

This would give Oppo a rare edge in the flagship space, where competitors like Samsung and Xiaomi are experimenting with single periscope lenses or variable focal length zooms.

Beyond the camera, the Find X9 Ultra is expected to carry Oppo’s premium build, advanced display tech and a large battery, though official details remain unconfirmed.

The Find X9 and X9 Pro are confirmed to launch next week, offering up to 16GB RAM, up to 1TB storage and a Hasselblad-tuned quad camera system, with batteries of 7,025mAh and 7,500mAh respectively.

Oppo has yet to announce when the Ultra will debut or its Australian pricing, but if the leaks hold true it could become a serious contender in the high-end smartphone market.
