Oppo Begins Global ColorOS 16 Rollout
Oppo has begun the global rollout of ColorOS 16, its Android 16-based software, starting with devices including the Find N5, Find X8 Pro and Find X8.
The update, which went live on November 6, marks the first wave of Oppo’s global distribution, with additional models to follow from November 11.
The newly launched Find X9, which Channel News will review this week, runs with ColorOS 16 straight out of the box.
The rollout will expand next week to include the Find N3, Find N3 Flip and Oppo Pad 3 Pro, before reaching more Oppo and Reno devices later in November.

The company says updates will arrive in batches, meaning some users may need to wait a few days for the over-the-air (OTA) notification.
The new software introduces a major visual overhaul with a new Light Field Design, bringing translucent textures and natural light effects inspired by the interplay of light and shadow.
The refreshed interface offers animations, full-screen Always-On Displays and the new Flux Home Screen that lets users resize icons and folders.
Under the hood, Oppo’s Luminous Rendering Engine and Trinity Engine promise smoother performance, up to 26% faster app launches and improved energy efficiency.

The system also delivers better multitasking and thermal management, with a 4°C drop in operating temperature and 13% better power efficiency.
AI takes a central role in ColorOS 16, with features like AI Portrait Glow, AI Eraser and Master Cut enhancing image and video editing.
The new AI Mind Space and AI Mind Assistant help users organise content, while integration with Google’s Gemini Live brings real-time contextual interactions with Google’s multimodal AI.
Connectivity also gets an upgrade with O+ Connect, which now supports file sharing and multi-device linking across Windows and macOS.
Finally, enhanced security features such as Oppo Lock with Dual Verification and Private Computing Cloud, aim to give users more control over their data.
