Oppo has launched ColorOS 16, its Android 16-based custom skin featuring visual upgrades, extended customisation options, improved AI capabilities, and enhanced performance and power efficiency.

ColorOS 16 introduces the Light Field Design language with translucent UI textures and elements, similar to the Liquid Glass UI previously seen on Apple’s iOS 26 and Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3.

The Luminous Rendering Engine provides seamless parallel rendering for smooth visual transitions, while the improved Trinity Engine manages system resources for better performance and multitasking.

Performance improvements include 37% higher stability under heavy load, 4.1°C temperature reduction, 13% better power efficiency, and 14% reduction in CPU load.

The OS delivers 26% faster app launch speeds, 30% faster in-app click response, and 16% quicker boot times.

The lock screen now supports new clock styles placeable anywhere on screen, drop shadow effects, full-screen Always-On Display, and lock screen widgets.

Icons and Flux Home Screen have been updated to match the translucent UI aesthetic with greater customisation options.

ColorOS 16 brings deeper AI integration into Notes, Recorder, and Calendar apps.

The new AI Portrait Glow feature optimises skin tones and balances light with a single tap.

The improved Aqua Dynamics feature now works with three live activities and supports Cloud Live Activities with over 110 live services.

The updated O+ Connect now supports Windows PCs and Macs.

Tablet users can run up to five apps simultaneously using the new Screen Mirroring option.
