Notebook Shipments On The Rise

Things are getting better in the notebook sector, it seems, with Taiwanese manufacturers reporting significant rises in shipments during the first quarter of 2019.

Quanta Computer saw its March notebook shipments rise by almost one million units month-on-month, to arrive at 2.8 million units.

Compal Electronics’ volumes picked up 75 percent to reach 4.2 million units. Wistron’s notebook shipments increased from one million units in February to 1.4 million in March while Inventec increased from 1.1 million units to 1.5 million.

Pegatron’s shipments also rose, reaching an estimated 600-650,000 units in March.

Revenues were up as a result, with Quanta announcing a 17 percent increase on month of NT$73.54 billion. Compal, Wistron and Inventec reported similar increases.
