Nintendo Switch Racks Up 2 Million Fortnite Downloads In 24 Hours

Users have flocked to Fortnite on the Nintendo Switch following the company’s announcement at E3 yesterday – reportedly notching over 2 million downloads in under 24 hours.

Speaking to Polygon Nintendo America President, Reggie Fils-Aime, affirms the results provide continued demand for Switch games, stemming from the console’s portability and cross-platform functionality.

As reported yesterday, Fortnite Battle Royal landed on the Nintendo Switch at 7am AEST yesterday.

According to latest numbers, Fortnite boasts a monthly active user base of over 40 million, and total of 125 million registered players since its launch last year.

The Fortnite Switch version supports cross-play with Xbox One, PC and mobile users – with the notable exception of PlayStation 4 players.
