The latest issue of SmartHouse magazine is out now with a focus on foldable phones as we fast approach the Australian release date for Apple’s long-awaited first foldable.

The new issue dives into the competitive foldable phone market where Apple goes head-to-head with Samsung, Motorola and Oppo over specifications like display, dimensions and most importantly, price for its foldable iPhone Duo.

The issue looks at the main differences between the iPhone Duo and key rival Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 foldable. Other foldables, the Motorola Razr Fold and Oppo Find N6 are also thrown into the mix with in-depth reviews in the magazine.

The issue also looks at the irony that is the fact that the iPhone Duo comes readymade with key components manufactured by Samsung, including the display.

This issue of SmartHouse also brings you a ton of news from IFA in Berlin at which this year automation was a big theme. There’s news from ECOVACS, EZVIZ and Reolink all of which announced new products.

Robotics company ECOVACs outlined plans to push further beyond robot vacuums with new products spanning window cleaning, lawn care and pool maintenance.

Security brand EZVIZ pitched new cameras and doorbells that run detection on the device rather than in the cloud, some of which are already on sale at JB Hi-Fi.

While Reolink expanded its home security range with the OMVI 2i Ultra camera that combines an 8MP wide-angle camera with a separate 5MP pan-and-tilt camera allowing users to monitor two directions simultaneously.

SmartHouse also reports on new products from Chinese manufacturer TCL led by the flagship SQD-mini-LED X11L TV which pairs mini-LED backlighting with Super Quantum Dots to deliver up to 20,736 dimming zones – the highest in the company’s European lineup.

Acer expands its tablet portfolio with three new offerings, including one that combines a 14.2-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 processor.

Also featured in the issue is the Acer Aspire Go 15 – a straightforward Windows laptop for work study and entertainment, one configuration of which is powered by an Intel Core 5 120U which can reach a maximum clock speed of 5.0GHz with Turbo Boost.
