New Google Leaks Show Rounded Pixel Corners
After Google unveiled their Pixel 8 series globally, leaks have emerged showing the Pixel 8a with rounded corners and a UWB antenna.
The renders show the rounded corners of a slim, peach-coloured Pixel 8a, but it also appears to have a tall aspect ratio and less width versus the Pixel 7a.
On the other hand, the back panel looks as though it is keeping the horizontal bridge with an oval cutout home to two camera sensors.
When we assess the front, the Pixel 8a has a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout, and a thick bottom chin is also evident.
Allegedly, the screen will be 6.1 inches, and dimensions-wise, it will be 152.1 x 72.6 x 8.9mm.
The yet-to-be-released Pixel 8a appears to have a volume and power button on the right side, and on the opposite left side, there lies a SIM tray slot.
Turning our attention to the bottom of the device, the USB-C port and stereo speakers reside there.
On top of the phone, there is an earpiece and an ultrawide-band antenna.
A little history – back in August, the Geekbench benchmarking platform displayed a Google phone that was codenamed ‘Akita’, which was expected to be the Pixel 8a.
The listing by Geekbench also showed an underclocked version of the Tensor G3 SoC, 8GB RAM, and on Android 14 OS.
The features uncovered in the leaks have not yet been confirmed with the rollout of Google’s 8a line expected to be early next year.
