Netflix Adds Three New Mobile Games To Their Service
US based streaming service Netflix has just revealed that they will be adding three more mobile games to their line-up, including their first FPS (first person shooter).
Anyone subscribed to Netflix will have access to the games, which can be played on iOS and Android devices.
The first game of the line-up is This Is A True Story, which was developed by Frosty Pop in tandem with Charity: Water. According to Netflix, the game is an RPG designed to “share a true story of a Sub-Saharan African woman’s daily struggle to get water for her family.”
The second game is Shatter Remastered, which is an updated version of the infamous 2009 brick-breaker that was initially released on PS3. Both Shatter Remastered and This is a True Story became available on Tuesday.
Finally, the third game will be Into The Dead 2: Unleashed, which is a wave based zombie FPS/runner game. This is due for a later release, with Netflix saying that it is “coming soon.”
Netflix’s game program launched in November last year and has seen them slowly move into the incredibly popular gaming market. The first games released under the program were popular racing game Asphalt Xtreme, a dungeon crawler called Dungeon Dwarves and of course Hextech Mayhem, which is a League of Legends spinoff.
While so far, all games released via Netflix have been mobile games, their growing interest in the market expands beyond smartphone users. They recently acquired Next Games and Night School Studios alongside the release of a trivia show and series based on Trivia Crack.
