JBL Launches Its First-Ever iPad Dock But The Wait Is On For AirPlay

JBL Launches Its First-Ever iPad Dock But The Wait Is On For AirPlay
The JBL OnBeat speaker dock sports a unique weaving-speaker design that is complimented by the typical but stylish chrome and black finish – and it doesn’t look all that bad either.

The star attraction is the universal connector that grips onto any mobile device (whether it be Apple or any other music player thanks to an additional 3.5mm jack connector) including wider units like the iPad.

An advanced model that features Apple’s wireless streaming AirPlay technology is set for an October release overseas, though the same model is yet to be confirmed for Australia. JBL’s Australian distributor Convoy International has tipped a release later in the year, though no pricing is set.

The OnBeat loudspeaker already hit US stores in April for US$149.95, but Australian consumers get to wait until late September with a $199 price tag.
