MS Office 365 Debuts On Mac App Store
As cross brand collaboration continues to rise, Apple has made Microsoft Office 365 available on the Mac App Store for the first time.
It comes after the Californian giant announced it was deploying Air Play 2 and HomeKit functionality to several Samsung, Sony and LG TVs this year.
The update seeks to make it easier for Mac users to download Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote, with the ability to purchase an Office 365 subscription within the apps.
Apple assert Office 365 for Mac has been specifically designed to support unique Mac attributes including the MacBook Pro Touch Bar, Mac Trackpad and macOS Dark Mode.
Microsoft Corporate VP, Jared Spataro, claims the company has worked closely with Apple to provide a premium productivity experience – “one that offers everything they know and love about Office through an experience uniquely designed for the Mac.”
The Mac App Store is the world’s single largest catalogue of Mac apps, and was recently redesigned in the past year.
Despite what some consumers may think, Apple Senior VP of Worldwide Marketing Phil Schiller asserts both companies have been working together to bring great Office productivity to Mac “from the very beginning.”
“Now, with Office 365 on the Mac App Store, it’s easier than ever to get the latest and best version of Office 365 for Mac, iPad and iPhone,” Schiller remarks.
