Motorola Unveils Moto Watch Ultra With Polar Fitness Tracking And LTE
Motorola has expanded its wearable line-up with the Moto Watch Ultra, a new premium smartwatch combining Polar health and fitness technology with Google’s Wear OS and standalone LTE connectivity.
Unveiled at IFA 2026 in Berlin, the Moto Watch Ultra represents a significant step up for Motorola’s smartwatch range, adding more advanced fitness tracking alongside features designed to reduce its reliance on a connected smartphone.
Motorola has partnered with Polar for the health and fitness side of the watch. Polar’s algorithms underpin features covering sleep, recovery, stress, activity, exercise and calorie tracking.
Among them is Serene, a guided breathing feature that provides real-time biofeedback and monitors how closely a user’s breathing follows an optimal rhythm. Nightly Recharge combines sleep data with autonomic nervous system recovery measurements to provide an indication of how well the body has recovered from the previous day.
Sleep Plus Stages tracks light, deep and REM sleep and produces a personalised sleep score, while Activity Goal creates daily movement targets based on the user’s profile and selected activity level.
Activity Score measures movement and intensity throughout the day, while Active Intensity Zones divides activity into light, moderate and vigorous categories using heart rate and movement data.
The watch can also issue inactivity alerts when the wearer has remained stationary for extended periods. Smart Calories estimates daily energy expenditure using information including heart rate, movement, weight and age, while Energy Sources estimates the proportion of fat, carbohydrates and protein being used during exercise.
Runners can access a Running Coach feature with guided running and walking workouts from the watch. Motorola is positioning the feature for both beginners and more experienced runners looking for help with pacing and structured training.

The Moto Watch Ultra is also Motorola’s first smartwatch to include LTE functionality. With a compatible eSIM and cellular plan, users can make and receive calls, send messages and manage notifications without having their smartphone nearby.
NFC provides support for Google Wallet payments, while dual-band GPS is included for navigation and location tracking.
Wear OS provides access to Google Play and services including Google Maps, YouTube Music, Google Messages and Gemini.
Motorola has also integrated its Qira AI platform into a smartwatch for the first time. When used with compatible Motorola and Lenovo devices, users can raise their wrist or say “Hey Qira” to ask questions and retrieve information stored across supported devices.
Powering the watch is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 platform.
The Moto Watch Ultra has a 1.5-inch always-on OLED display capable of reaching a claimed 2,700 nits of brightness. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protects the screen, while the watch itself uses a 46mm stainless steel case.
Motorola has retained compatibility with standard 22mm watch bands. Its own options include silicone straps in Pantone Black Beauty and Mountain View, along with leather versions in Pantone Black Beauty and Pantone Nuthatch.
The watch carries IP68 and 5ATM ratings, allowing it to be used while swimming. Motorola claims up to two days of active use from a full charge, while a 15-minute charge is said to provide up to 24 hours of use.
Release date and pricing for Australia have not yet been confirmed.
