Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ Brings Back Periscope Zoom Camera
Motorola is putting mobile photography front and centre with its upcoming Edge 70 Pro+, confirming the return of a dedicated periscope zoom camera ahead of the phone’s launch next month.
The Edge 70 Pro+ will feature a triple rear camera setup led by a 50MP Sony LYT-710 primary sensor with optical image stabilisation, alongside a 50MP ultra-wide lens and a new 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto camera.
Motorola is also promoting up to 50x AI-powered zoom and portrait modes spanning 24mm, 35mm, 50mm and 85mm focal lengths.
The inclusion of a periscope lens marks a notable shift for Motorola after the standard Edge 70 Pro launched without a dedicated zoom camera, disappointing some buyers looking for stronger photography credentials in the premium mid-range segment.

Motorola has confirmed the Edge 70 Pro+ will officially launch on June 4 in India, with the handset expected to sit at the top of Motorola’s Edge 70 lineup.
The device could be a rebadged version of the global Edge 70 Pro unveiled in Europe earlier this year, although Motorola appears to be introducing region-specific finishes and branding tweaks.
Beyond the camera upgrades, the Edge 70 Pro+ is rumoured to feature a 6.8-inch 1.5K quad-curved OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and peak brightness reportedly reaching 5200 nits. The handset is expected to run on MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500 Extreme chipset with configurations offering up to 16GB RAM.

Motorola is also tipped to include a 6500mAh battery paired with 90W wired fast charging and wireless charging support – features aimed at pushing the device further into premium territory.
Design teasers show three Pantone-inspired finishes: Zinfandel red with a satin-style texture, Stormy Sea teal with a twill-like fabric effect, and Chicory Coffee brown featuring a sculpted wood-look rear panel.
The smartphone is expected to ship with Motorola’s Hello UX software based on Android 16, with three years of major Android OS updates anticipated.
