More Oz Companies Hit By Ransomware: New Report

New research shows Australia’s shift to remote work has intensified data protection challenges that are struggling to protect the explosion of Office 365 data.

A report by cloud enabled security company Barracuda, The State of Office 365 Backup, revealed 46 percent of Australian IT decision makers say their organisation has experienced a ransomware attack; while 70 percent of Australian organisations are still relying solely on capabilities built in Office 365 to backup and recover Office 365 data.

Around 91 percent of Australian respondents indicate that using Teams creates a data-retention concern.

Overall, the findings indicate that the shift to remote work during the pandemic has intensified the challenges associated with protecting Office 365 data.
