Home > Appliances > Air Conditioning And Heating > Midea Coming To Oz With Man City Partnership

Consumer appliance producer Midea is kicking goals announcing its partnership with English Premier League team Manchester City just days before unveiling plans to open 20 stores in Australia by 2021.

Midea Group, China’s largest air conditioner exporter, will add twenty retail stores alongside The Good Guys stores where products have been sold in  Australia.

The expansion follows the opening of four retail stores in the back end of 2019 in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, alongside new warehouses in Condell Park, Sydney and the existing warehouse in Brisbane.

Media group will be bringing its range of appliances, along with products from Toshiba, which it acquired in 2016 for US$473 million.

It comes off the back of the partnership announcement between Manchester City, with the company branding to appear ‘around the Etihad Stadium on key matchdays over the coming months through integrated branding and activations’.

Media is also planning an ‘innovative digital campaign for the remainder of the 2019/2020 season’.

Head of Brand & Communication, Brando Brandstaeter believes Media is one of the biggest companies that many consumers around the world are just starting to become aware of.

‘With City’s help, we aim to make a great leap forward’.

While the partnership is with an English football team, the EPL is a worldwide phenomenon that will bring millions of eyeballs to the brand.

‘We are confident that the synergy between the two brands will take us to a whole new level,’ said Brando.
