Just weeks after launching its mid-range Grotto Series, premium audio brand MartinLogan has unveiled the Depth 212 and Depth 215 subwoofers, whose bass extends to a staggering 18Hz.

The new lineup represents a ground-up redesign of MartinLogan’s previous flagship BalancedForce subwoofers.

Both new models employ MartinLogan’s BalancedForce design, featuring dual-opposed active drivers – 12-inch woofers in the Depth 212 and 15-inch in the 215.

This configuration cancels cabinet vibration, keeping bass tight and distortion-free even under extreme load.

The woofers themselves use the brand’s new Carbon Aerocore cone technology, a tri-layer composite of carbon fibre, PMI foam and fibreglass that delivers strength without added mass.

Power comes from reference-grade Class-D amplifiers, delivering up to 4,400 watts of Dynamic Peak power in the 215.

A proprietary 64-bit, 500MHz Vojtko DSP engine continuously monitors and adjusts performance, while Anthem Room Correction (ARC Genesis) ensures the system adapts perfectly to any space.

Other refinements include lossless wireless connectivity, a touch-sensitive rear control interface, anti-vibration feet and a convection-cooled concealed amplifier design that keeps things cool and visually minimalist.

Available initially in black, with more finishes due in 2026, the Depth Series joins MartinLogan’s growing family of precision subwoofers alongside the more affordable Grotto range.

The woofers join a market crowded with heavy hitters like SVS, REL and DAL.

Depth 212 will retail for US$5,499 (A$8,299) and the Depth 215 for US$6,999 (A$10,499).

“We started from scratch to push bass performance to the next level,” said Allan Tarrant, Senior Vice President at MartinLogan. “The Depth Series has exceeded our expectations in every way, from sound quality to craftsmanship.”
