Marshall’s Acton III is getting a fresh look, with a new deep burgundy finish set to join the lineup. The current black model is selling for $298 at JB Hi-Fi as part of the retailer’s Black Friday deals, but the upcoming colour option—likened to the “velvet lining of guitar cases”—adds a richer, more classic aesthetic to the compact speaker.

The hardware remains unchanged. The new burgundy joins Marshall’s existing finishes: amplifier black, retro cream, brown, and dark blue. Black continues to be the brand’s signature shade, but the addition of burgundy broadens the appeal for buyers chasing something a little more distinctive.

The Acton III delivers true stereo sound across a 45Hz to 20kHz frequency range. A 30-watt Class D amplifier powers the woofer, supported by two 15-watt Class D amps for the tweeters. Bluetooth 5.2 ensures stable streaming and future readiness for LE Audio, while a 3.5mm input offers a wired option for turntables, laptops, and other sources.

Marshall’s dynamic loudness tuning helps maintain tonal balance at any volume—preventing audio from sounding thin at low levels or harsh when pushed harder.

Despite its compact form, the Acton III isn’t designed as a portable speaker. With no internal battery, it’s intended as a plug-in home speaker suited to shelves, bedside tables, or kitchen benches, offering the brand’s signature style without added fuss.
