Marshall has refreshed two of its best-known home speakers, with the new Acton IV and Stanmore IV adding improved acoustics, smarter controls and a more repair-friendly design.

The fourth-generation speakers retain Marshall’s familiar guitar amp-inspired styling, including the brass control panel and black or cream finish options, but the company has made several changes under the hood.

Both models now feature upgraded tweeters and redesigned waveguides, which Marshall claims deliver a wider and more evenly dispersed soundstage. The bass ports have also been reworked to improve airflow, with the company promising cleaner, more powerful low-end performance.

The smaller Acton IV features a 4-inch woofer and two tweeters, while the larger Stanmore IV steps up to a 5-inch woofer, making it better suited to larger rooms.

Marshall has also added Dynamic Loudness, which automatically adjusts bass and treble as volume levels change, helping preserve clarity and warmth at both low and high listening levels.

A new Placement Compensation feature, managed through the Marshall app, lets users optimise the sound depending on whether the speaker is placed near a wall, in a corner or on an open surface.

Connectivity has been upgraded too, with Bluetooth LE Audio, Auracast support for multi-speaker listening, RCA input for devices such as turntables, and a 3.5mm auxiliary input. The Stanmore IV also retains HDMI ARC, allowing it to be used as a compact TV speaker.

Marshall has added a customisable M-button, which can be set to trigger Spotify Tap or switch between preferred EQ settings.

One of the more practical changes is the repositioned power cable, which now exits from the bottom of the cabinet so the speaker can sit flush against a wall.

Marshall is also pushing repairability, with replaceable external parts including the front grille, control knobs and feet, potentially extending the life of the speakers.

The Acton IV is priced overseas at US$299.99, while the Stanmore IV is priced at US$399.99. Australian pricing and availability have yet to be confirmed.
