Logitech G Revs Up e-Racing Competition
Logitech’s gaming arm, Logitech G, has announced its annual e-sports e-racing Logitech G Challenge, building on the company’s renewed partnerships with Fernando Alonso FA Racing and McLaren Racing.
The Logitech G Challenge is divided into four divisions: the USA, Latin America, Europe, and Asia Pacific (AP).
Each division will host online qualifiers and/or wildcard events in the coming months, with winners going on to compete in the respective Regional Finals.
The top two e-racers from each region will compete in the worldwide Grand Finals, with paid travel for themselves and a guest.
The overall winner will go on to represent Logitech G as a finalist in the 2019 McLaren Shadow Project e-sports competition, and be in with a chance to join the McLaren Shadow e-sports team.
They will also receive paid travel for themselves and a guest to the McLaren Technology Center in Woking UK, where the competition will be held.
Also available is the opportunity to join the McLaren Driver Development Program, and hone in driving skills.
“The Logitech G Challenge e-racing series creates an exciting opportunity for us to connect fans who have a passion for both virtual and real-world racing,” said Ben Payne, head of esports at McLaren.
“We’re always looking for ways to demonstrate the connection between the virtual and the real world of racing.”
Registration for the online qualifiers opens on 3 June 2019 and closes 23 November 2019. Sign up here.
