Linksys Launch Redesigned App

Networking vendor Linksys have redesigned and relaunched their Smart Wi-Fi app.

Available for both Apple and Android smartphone users, the app integrates with Linksys’ Smart Wi-Fi range to enable users to monitor, manage and control their home networks.

According to Linksys, “The app has been completely updated and redesigned, providing simple utility such as looking up and sharing the wireless credentials for up to 50 guests with a few taps on a mobile device.  The app will also enable users to change bandwidth prioritisation quickly and easily.”

Other new features added to the app include intelligent notifications that will keep you informed of any changes to your network status and maintain access to critical wireless devices remotely.

You can also now easily share your Wi-Fi name and password with guests via the app and manage a number of advanced setting including: single port forwarding, port range forwarding, port range triggering and MAC filtering.

Greg Morrison, Linksys Country Manager for Australia & New Zealand, noted that “Being first to market with a router app for managing and monitoring a home network, we wanted to continue to advance the software for an even more intuitive approach that made it even easier to manage and share a home network.”

“What separates good routers from great routers is the software. The Linksys Smart Wi-Fi app clearly differentiates its home router solutions by providing all the basic and advanced management and control features while continuing to add new features that leverage the intelligence of the home router,” he said.

The Linksys Smart Wi-Fi app is compatible with all Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Routers and available now for Australian & New Zealand consumers through the Google Play Store and iTunes App Store.
