LG To Launch New ‘G Series’ Phone Next Month
Following a slew of online leaks and rumours, LG has announced it’ll unveil its new “premium” G7ThinQ smartphone on May 2nd in New York City. The device is LG’s first ‘G Series’ smartphone to feature its ‘ThinQ’ artificial intelligence (AI) brand name.
It follows the V30SThinQ – LG’s first smartphone to integrate artificial intelligence in core operations – e.g. voice recognition and ‘Vision AI’ for an “enhanced camera”.
The new G7ThinQ is tipped to feature a 6-inch QHD+ MLCD+ display screen (with a notch), and be available in five colours; “Aurora Black,” “Moroccan Blue,” “Moroccan Blue (Matte)”, “Platinum Grey” and “Raspberry Rose.ThinQ categorises all LG consumer electronics (e.g. TVs) and appliances (e.g. fridges) which incorporate artificial intelligence in core hardware for “practical consumer benefit”. LG claims the new G7ThinQ will better connect to other LG smart home devices.
President of LG Electronics Mobile Communications, Hwang Jeong-hwan, claims the new G7ThinQ integrates AI for function and “user experience”:
“With the LG G7ThinQ, LG is continuing to deliver on its promise to enhance core technologies to meet customers’ real life needs by incorporating AI technologies that are more than features, they are part of the user experience.”
Australian pricing and availability is yet to be confirmed.
