LG G6 Revealed, Google Voice Assistant Confirmed

LG are still keeping a lid on the details of their next flagship smartphone. However, several of the hardware and software characteristics have been leaked ahead of its official reveal in late-February.

The Verge debuted the first image of the handset’s metal-and-glass design earlier today, confirming the smartphone will feature a 5.7-inch display.

It makes for a stark contrast to the modular G5, though the handset is said to still feature the dual-camera system and center-mounted fingerprint sensor present in its predecessor.

Another aspect of the phone that looks to have been confirmed is the inclusion of Google’s AI-driven voice assistant.

The feature, which debuted last year with Google’s Pixel and Pixel XL phones, is billed as a more versatile and open-ended version of what Apple’s Siri and Amazon’s Alexa offers.

Reports out of Business Korea indicate that the Google Assistant will also make its way into other LG products, including the company’s new 2017 range of smartwatches.

Expect more details to be confirmed when LG officially reveal the phone on February 25th.
