Lenovo Smart Displays with Google Assistant have gone on sale in the United States and can be expected to land in Australia soon, though the company hasn’t explicitly said when or at what price point.

The device functions as a visual output for Google Assistant, allowing it to play YouTube videos on demand, conduct video conferences and view content from your other Google applications.

Lenovo also imagines customers will want to use the device as a baby monitor, Spotify streaming device, desk diary and entertainment centre.

The launch models come with a 1.8GHz Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, 10W speaker and a 5MP front facing camera.

The device comes with physical covers for its inbuilt microphone and camera to boost consumers’ confidence in privacy security.

You will be able to purchase the device in a 8 inch or 10 inch form factor, with 1280×800 and 1920×1080 resolution displays respectively.
