Lenovo ANZ Shuffles PC Management Team

Lenovo ANZ has reportedly shaken up its PC management team, with the appointment of Stephen Lau to local SMB leader, whilst Brendan Lau takes a regional Asia Pacific post.

According to ARNStephen Lau is tasked with growing Lenovo’s presence in the small to medium business market, effective immediately.

He joins the company from Microsoft China working as the Director of Cloud Business Operations.

Lau’s hire coincides with increased investment in Lenovo’s small to medium business PC initiatives.

Brendan Lau’s regional appointment will see him leave his post as PC and Smart Devices Director (Consumer and SMB), for a Asia Pacific regional leadership role.

He is tasked with heading up Lenovo’s smart home and AR/VR offerings across the region, whilst driving sales and marketing.

Lenovo ANZ Managing Director, Matt Codrington, will reportedly be acting consumer business lead until Lau’s role is filled.

The news follows the appointment of Bhaskar Choudhuri as Lenovo Asia Pacific Head of Marketing in June, after Nick Reynolds was promoted to Global Head of Marketing.

It comes after the resignation of Lenovo ANZ Chief Financial Officer, Richard Rodgers, who left the company on July 1st.

Earlier this year, Lenovo ANZ won a 20,000 unit Federal Government (Centrelink) PC contract. The company has faced claims of heavy discounting, coupled with recent staff layoffs.
