Leaked: Huawei Mate 10 Features 18:9 Display

Whilst the Huawei Mate 10 is not scheduled to be revealed until October 16th, today’s leak confirms the anticipated device will feature an [as expected] 18:9 display ratio.

The leaked video posted to PocketNow, indicated the resolution of images and video will be just 1080 x 2160. It’s a deviation from the QHD+ display expected, however, some sources state the images were potentially downscaled, such that a smaller video could be created.

The video reveals the new EMUI 6’s ability to intelligently change the colour of on screen text to compliment surrounding colours, e.g. of the wallpaper – a feature said to be called ‘Smart Colour’.

Leaked images of the device’s front panel have also been released. Some sources state the image features what will be named the ‘Mate 10 Pro

Earlier leaks suggest that the display ratio will differ according to the variant of Mate 10.

The Mate 10 Pro (‘Blanc’) will reportedly feature an 18:9 display ration with 5.99 inch 2,880×1,440 pixel resolution. The standard Mate 10 (‘Alps’) will feature a 16:9 aspect ratio display with a 2,560×1,440 pixel resolution.

Following IFA 2017, consumers already know there will be three upcoming Mate 10 variants, will all include Huawei’s new Kirin 970 chipset.

Currently, it’s unclear what the specifications will be for the third model. Sources speculate the video could infer that the third model could include HD+ resolution with an 18:9 display ratio.
