An image leaked by MySmartPrice shows what appears to be the first official image of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 5.
Although a full reveal is expected next month, the image showcases a few details helping to explain how it will compete alongside Google’s Pixel Fold among other flexible, foldable devices coming out.
There have been rumours of a “water drop” style hinge that was designed to reduce the appearance of a screen crease while the phone was unfolded, and allow it to close practically flat, having the same durability rating as the model before.
The image indicated what looks like less of a gap when closed than the Galaxy Z Fold 4 did.
Another possible, visible minor change indicates the camera flash has moved off the camera bump on the back, and the screen bezel is thinner.
Some other expected specs include:
- Screen sizes are unchanged
- 6.2 inch Full HD+ display on the outside cover
- 7.6 inch QHD+ display on the inside
- Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC (which can be found in the Galaxy S23 phones)
- A 4,400mAh battery with 45W fast charging, and 25W wireless charging
- A triple rear camera setup to include: a 50MP main camera, 12MP ultrawide camera, 10MP telephoto camera, and 12MP front-facing camera, all to be used open or closed.
