+++50 Channels: Foxtel Turn Up Mobile TV

Foxtel Go app now offers over 50 live channels and a bucket load of catch up TV on the iPhone,  iPad and iPod Touch, 
covering drama, entertainment, docos, movies, sport, news, lifestyle and kids.

The 25 new channels include: Arena, UKTV, FX and 13th STREET, Discovery, Animal Planet, History, CNN, Bio, BBC Knowledge and six movie channels including Foxtel Movies Action/Adventure.

Foxtel has been a busy beaver of late, making regular additions to the Go app, launched in November, extending it to iPhone just last month, as it looks to grow subscriber numbers from ‘subdued’ levels.

It has also been ramping up its other Internet TV service on Samsung TV and Xbox 360. Go app is also promised for Androids but has not yet appeared in the Google Play Store.

They are not charging any existing users any extra to watch telly on mobiles.

It is not clear how much the Pay TV giant, owned by News Limited and Telstra, is hoping to increase their user numbers by, following the introduction of new services.

Foxtel coudl not comment at the time of writing.

The Pay TV giant is spruiking the Go App as a truly a “world class internet TV product” said Jim Rudder, Foxtel Executive Director of Product, which now has 56 live channel in all.

 

“We’re thrilled to launch the new channels on Foxtel Go bringing the total number of live streamed channels to just under 60.”

In March, new and return premiere shows exclusively on the live channels include: Top Of The Lake (UKTV), Grimm (FOX8), Revolution (FOX8), The Celebrity Apprentice (FOX8), The Real Housewives of Miami (Arena), Rachel Zoe Project (Arena), I Survived (Bio), Gene Simmons: The Family Jewels (Bio), How Tech Works (Discovery Science), Australia’s Deadliest (Nat Geo WILD), 100 Things To Do Before You Die (TLC), Ask The Butcher (LifeStyle FOOD), The Only Way is Essex (LifeStyle FOOD), Smash (SoHo), and Killing Lincoln (National Geographic Channel).

Movies in March on movie channels are Fight Club, American Reunion, Arthur Christmas, Cinderella Story: Once Upon A Song, The Oyster Farmer, One Night at McCools, The Mask of Zorro, Copycat, This Means War, 50/50, Margin Call, The Inbetweeners Movie, and Dark Shadows.
