JBL Android TV Soundbar To Land In Oz October

Harman-owned JBL has confirmed its highly anticipated Android TV ‘Link Bar’ soundbar will release in Australia October this year, with pricing tipped to be around the A$600 mark.

Back in May – at the unveiling of its Bar 3.1 and Bar 5.1 – JBL claimed its Link Bar would be the first Android TV-powered soundbar with in-built Google Assistant.

The Link Bar claims to turn any TV “regardless of make or model” into a smart TV, with voice controls via Google Assistant.

JBL affirms the Link Bar is among the first of series of ‘hybrid’ devices, offering both full Google Assistant and Android TV functionalities.

Concerning audio strength, the Link Bar incorporates 100W speakers, three HDMI-inputs, optical input and a single ARC HDMI output.

For eager consumers, B&H Photo Video has opened pre-orders for the Link Bar in the United States, with shipping to Australia totalling around US$426 [A$580].

Purchased from B&H, shipping will commence October 16th, with local customers advised to purchase a robust power adaptor.
