Jaybird Unveil ‘RUN’ True Wireless Headphones, Designed for Sport

Sports headphones manufacturer, Jaybird, has unveiled its newest product offering – ‘RUN’ true wireless headphones, designed for pleasurable use whilst running or any other form of high activity.

At the launch event in Sydney, Jaybird heralded the device as “offering a radically freeing experience to runners”. The company states the product was designed utilising insight from premier global runners and athletes, in a bid to create a customised and market differentiated product amid the highly competitive headphones market.

Jaybird’s RUN wireless earbuds feature a “secure, run-specific comfort-fit, sweat proofing, water resistance and skip-free” wearable experience.

The headphones utilise a double hydrophobic coating which enables the sweat proof and water resistant claims.

In a bid to substantiate the wearability and fit of the earbuds, the company invited several athletes to take a “city run” during the launch event, and as the live video coverage displayed, none of the buds fell out during the race.

The wireless headphones include a pressable control button which enables consumers to take phone calls, play and stop music, skip tracks and utilise Google Assistant.

Many attendees found the noise cancelling feature of the device especially differentiating, which is often lacking in similarly styled headphones.

The buds boast four hours of usage on a single charge and the accompanying charging case provides an extra eight hours – resulting in a total of twelve hours of mobile battery life. Jaybird states five minutes of charging will give a person one hour of play time.

The earphones include a companion app which provides users with the ability to customise sound. It also includes a nifty “Find My Buds” function, especially useful for wireless buds.

Jeff Taylor, Jaybird Athlete and Partnership Manager, states of the headphone’s features and specifications:

“Jaybird RUN is inspired by our athletes, and tested and built with the runner in mind who listens to music or podcasts and wants to feel as free as possible”.

The canyoneer and adventurer adds:

“Being runners ourselves we understand how bulky headphones can get in the way. The Jaybird RUN compact form factor fits securely and delivers music without a single wire. We’ve perfected the Jaybird RUN experience, so you’ll forget you’re wearing them, and we’re excited to share them with runners everywhere”.

Naturally, the buds utilise Bluetooth technology. It also includes interchangeable tips and fins to cater to different ear sizes.

The buds come in Drift (white with silver accents) and Jet (black with silver accents).

Jaybird RUN headphones are available to purchase from JB HiFi from September 25th or directly via Jaybird’s website for $249.

The company also announced a revamp of its Freedom headphones. The Freedom 2 headphones with Speedfit are available from JB HiFi from September 25th for A$229, or via Jaybird’s website.

Stay tuned for an exclusive interview with Jaybird Global Brand Ambassador and Athlete Manager, Jeff Taylor, discussing the future of technology marketing.

A full review of the new RUN wireless earbuds is also forthcoming.
