As people become more emboldened to book leisure travel without fears of cancellations or lockdowns, travel equipment sales, including those of tracking products, are on the rise.
According to analyst group Circana’s Retail Tracking Service data, sales revenue for item trackers increased by 82 per cent in the U.S., while sales revenue from item trackers surged 94 per cent in January 2023 alone.
These aren’t the only tech items benefitting from the increase in travel, with ear-buds, and portable chargers among those product categories seeing a boost, according to Circana.
“Despite economic headwinds facing consumers, spending on travel is expected to continue to pick-up in 2023 and 2024, presenting a unique opportunity for travel-adjacent technology products,” said Ben Arnold, executive director and industry analyst at Circana.
“Categories like item trackers, on-the-ear headphones, and portable power packs that keep travelers connected, entertained, and powered-on while on the go have had positive growth in a challenging first quarter.”
