Is Apple Working On A Budget AirPods Pro?
A new report emerging from Digitimes speculates that Apple is gearing up to release a ‘lite’ version of its popular AirPods Pro, in a move that could make the device more accessible to young people.
Apple is aiming to the extend its successful adoption of its truly wireless (TWS) earbuds range, giving it three different price tags.
The new version is expected to be priced between the standard $159 AirPods 2 price and the new high-tier $249 AirPods Pro.
According to the report, Taiwan’s Universal Scientific Industrial (USI) is most likely set to become the main supplier of the new AirPods Pro Lite – this name hasn’t yet been confirmed – and the new model will come equipped with a system-in-package (SiP) chip constriction.
While this report are only speculations, the new modest AirPods Pro are expected to be launched around mid-2020, but these plans may be disturbed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Overall, Apple’s Pro line of AirPods is expected to rise to 40 to 50 per cent of total AirPod sales by the end of this year.
