Is a New Mini Samsung S8 Coming, Some say Yes, While Insiders Say No

First it was the big models, now Samsung is getting ready to launch a wee small Galaxy S8 if tips from insiders are correct.

The new mini version of their hugely popular Galaxy S8 is tipped to go on sale shortly in Australia they claim. ChannelNews at this stage has no proof of this and Samsung is not saying anything on the issue.

It’s claimed that the smaller 5.3inch display, handset will sit alongside the existing S8 and S8+ in Samsung’s range.

The ‘bezel-less’ design, will feel like a 4.7-inch handset said one insiders.

The handset is expected to incorporate the same 12-megapixel camera as its bigger brothers, although it will house a Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, a slight step down from the S8’s Snapdragon 835 processor and 64GB of internal storage.

Samsung has released mini variants of its flagship smartphones in the past, but has not confirmed the new handset.

According to The Leaker, the plan to launch a smaller handset was shelved last month, along with plans for an A10 Pro, as the firm focuses on the Galaxy Note 8 set to launch in September.

‘There was no point of launching a mini variant with a mere an inch smaller display size and lesser powerful hardware; this would have made no sense to some buyers,’ The Leaker says.
