iPhone X Face ID Crashes After New Update
Recent reports reveal that the facial unlock system within Apple’s latest flagship smartphone, the iPhone X, has crashed after users downloaded the latest iOS update.
iOS 11.2 was reportedly created to fix a bug which caused some users’ phones to crash, however, since installing some iPhone X users are unable to activate ‘Face ID’.
Users who have been affected claim their handsets display an ‘Unable to activate Face ID on this phone’ error.
Some users claim turning their handset on and off again – a ‘soft reset’ – has solved the Face ID issue, however, others remain unsuccessful and have turned to Twitter to voice their frustration.
Affected users have been asked to consult Apple Support.
The news adds to a slew of recent criticism about the iPhone X’s Face ID system, with many users vocal about their thoughts on social media:
Dear @Apple, #FaceID was the worst idea y’all ever had. Very inefficient & more often makes unlocking your phone a drawn-out process.
Starting to highly dislike my #iPhoneX because of it.

#FaceID works seamlessly when it works, though, it takes 1.5 secs & a swipe more than finger print scanner but the real problem is that is works only 80% of the times, even lesser when in well lit outdoors! @apple you didn’t perfect it, so unlike you! #iPhoneX

Ups, we have a #Facegate. My daughter can open my wife’s #FaceID and vice-versa. Doesn’t work with me or my son, but the two #iPhoneX work with each others Face….
