Intel Develops Windows VR Winter Olympics Experience

Intel has announced it plans to develop a Windows-based Mixed Reality experience for the forthcoming Winter Olympics.

Whilst Intel has not explicitly specified what it is building, commentators speculate it may be similar to NBC’s virtual reality broadcast during 2016’s Rio Olympics.

During this time, NBC broadcast a variety of events via Samsung’s VR headset, through its NBC Sports App.

Microsoft is set to launch its Mixed Reality platform on October 17th and with a variety of headsets from manufacturers such as; Dell, Lenovo, Acer, HP, and Samsung.

Windows’ Mixed Reality is similar to current VR experiences (from Oculus and HTC), and is set to support apps/games from Windows Store & SteamVR by the year’s end.
