IFA 2017: TCL’s “Smart” Air-Con Wins Innovation Award

TCL has merged ‘smart’ technology with the humble air-conditioner, and has won the IFA Intelligent Security Innovation Gold Award at IFA 2017 in Berlin, for its T-GUARDIAN air-conditioner series.

The T-GUARDIAN boasts a built-in camera which enables the user to monitor their internal home whilst they are outside. Should any objects enter the area, an alarm message is sent to the owner. For privacy considerations, the camera can be hidden with a fold-able mechanism should it no longer be required.

The air-conditioner has been awarded for its distinguished design style, high-efficiency heat exchanger and eco-friendliness, plus air purification capabilities.

During IFA 2017 TCL also unveiled its newest air conditioners, the TCL Elite & Grace series, which received much praise for smart features as self-cleaning.

TCL’s air-conditioner range includes the ‘Aircon+’ marketing title, which speaks of the company’s intention to create a new generation of air conditioning products which includes more ‘smart’ features and boasts higher customisation.

TCL is reportedly China’s third largest air-conditioner exporter.
