Huawei P20+ To Feature ‘Always On Display’ & iPhone X ‘Notch’

Ahead of its March launch, recent reports reveal Huawei’s P20 Plus will feature an iPhone X-esque ‘notch’ and Samsung Galaxy inspired ‘Always On’ Display.

The Chinese-based company is set to launch the P20, P20 Plus and P20 Lite at a launch event in Paris on March 27th.

Recent reports reveal Huawei’s P20 Plus will incorporate a notable 4,000 mAh battery, to facilitate ‘Always On’ Display.

The devices are also rumoured to incorporate Huawei’s Kirin 970 processor – the same found within its Mate 10 series.

FunkyHuawei recently obtained firmware files to substantiate claims. Embedded within the P20 Plus’ firmware, Huawei’s Always On Display APK was discovered – inferring the app will be pre-installed to the smartphone on launch.

Thus far, Huawei’s recently released Mate 10 Pro is the only smartphone in the company’s lineup to feature Always On Display.

The Mate 10 Pro was also Huawei’s first smartphone to incorporate an OLED screen, adding speculation the P20 Plus will feature the same.

As revealed by xda, the P20 will include an iPhone-X style notch, claimed to better compete with Apple in the long-term.

Renders of all three P20 smartphones have been leaked online, however, consumers will have to wait until the official launch for full details.
