HP Unveils Affordable Pavilion Gaming Line
HP is releasing a new affordable line of its Pavilion Gaming desktops, notebooks and displays starting from US$449 aiming at casual users.
HP says its new Pavilion Portfolio is designed to meet the diverse needs of more casual users, who often want a single device to meet all their PC needs.
There are four products in the new line, the Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15, the Pavilion Desktop 790, the Pavilion Gaming 690 Desktop and the 32″ gaming display.
Kevin Frost, vice president and general manager of consumer personal systems, HP says the company is building a gaming ecosystem to appeal to all segments of the market, “With HP Pavilion Gaming, casual gamers get the best of both worlds – powerful game play on a boldly designed device that’s versatile enough to meet their everyday PC needs.”
The HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15 has a 6 core mobile 8th Gen Intel Core i7+ H-series processors or up to mainstream, quad core mobile 8th Gen Intel Core i7 U-series processors. Its HDD storage can be up to 2 TB, up to 256 GB PCIe NVMe SSD, dual storage option up to 256GB PCIe NVMe SSD with 1 TB HDD or 128 GB PCIe NVMe SSD with 2 TB HDD, or configurations with a HDD up to 1 TB paired with 16 GB of Intel Optane memory for storage acceleration.
Its available graphics options include up to AMD Radeon RX 560X or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with MAX-Q Design. The display is 15.6-inches with display offered in 144Hz 1080p, 60Hz 1080p, audio ex and 60Hz 4K display.
The speakers have been custom tuned by B&O Play with HP Audio Boost. It also has a cooling solution in the form of dual fans with exhaust vents located on the back corners of the laptop to help manage airflow and reduce heat.
The device is available in Acid Green, Ghost White, or Ultraviolet color themes, with color-matched printed accents on the laptop port labels.
The Gaming Laptop starts from US$799 and planned to be available via HP.com and other retailers from May 9. The HP Pavilion Gaming 690 starts at US$549 and will be available from April 15. The HP Pavilion Gaming 790 is priced at US$649 and will be available from April 30 on HP online and June 3 at other retailers. HP Pavilion Gaming 32 HDR Display starting price is US$449 and planned to be available via HP.com and other retailers on May 11, 2018.
