Google Working On First 4K Chromebrook

Recent reports reveal Google is working on its first 4K Chromebook laptop, following source code for a device with a 3840 x 2160 screen resolution.

XDA Developers uncovered the source code within Chromium OS, which revealed a 16:9 device, codenamed ‘Atlas’.

With the normal inclusions of a keyboard, touchpad and touchscreen, ‘Atlas’ will not reportedly feature a SD card slot for media transfer or additional storage.

The rumoured ‘Atlas’ will surpass Google’s current Pixelbook laptop, incorporating a 12.3-inch display screen and 2400 x 1600 resolution.

Some commentators predict the device will unveil sooner, rather than later. Google I/O is nearly a month away, and in addition to Android P, some speculate the new Chromebook could make an appearance then.
