Netflix Eyes First Major TV BAFTA For ‘The Crown’ & ‘Black Mirror’

Proving its commitment to award-winning content, Netfix is edging closer to its first major TV BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) Award for its highly-acclaimed period piece ‘The Crown’ and futuristic ‘Black Mirror’.

Similar to last year, Netflix has received six BAFTA nominations including; ‘Best Drama’, ‘Best Lead Actress’ and ‘Best Supporting Actress’ for The Crown, Claire Foy and Vanessa Kirby respectively.

Originally a British TV Show, Netflix purchased the rights for futuristic ‘Black Mirror’ in 2015, for which it has received three BAFTA nominations.

Thus far, Netflix has never won a BAFTA for TV in the major categories, and consensus is this year is the closest its come to winning an accolade for ‘Best Actor’, ‘Best Actress’ and ‘best TV show’ in a genre.
