Google To Take On Harman & Lenovo With New Wireless Charging Pixel Stand

While everyone has been banging on about the new Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, a new Google product has slipped under the radar and it’s very smart.

The Lenovo product with Google Assistant, but no wireless charging.

What Google have up their sleeve is a charging dock that takes on products from Harman and Lenovo in the form of a device called the Pixel Stand, a Google Assistant-equipped smart display that also functions as a wireless charging dock.

And after doing some digging, app developer Kieron Quinn has found out (via XDA Developers) that the Pixel Stand will be capable of:
Displaying the weather,
Set reminders
Set timers
Play games
Make phone calls
Read messages
Play music
Set alarms
Play news
“Explore what’s new”

We know that the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will feature wireless charging, and there’s now a chance the Pixel Stand will also make an appearance at Google’s upcoming launch event on October 9.

That event will almost certainly be the official announcement of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones. Both devices are expected to get some design tweaks, including the somewhat controversial large notch on the Pixel 3 XL and a glass back for wireless charging on both devices. Each of the devices will also have dual front-facing cameras and a single rear camera.

Despite the spate of Pixel leaks, Google may have more announcements up its sleeve, given that it announced Google Home Mini and Max, Pixel Buds, and Clips at last year’s event.
