Google is expected to unveil a broad range of new Pixel hardware at its annual Made by Google event, with leaks pointing to refreshed smartphones, a new smartwatch and the possible debut of a Bluetooth item tracker.

The company’s next generation of smartphones is tipped to include the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Early reports suggest the new devices will retain a familiar design while introducing updated colours, improved performance and new artificial intelligence features.

One of the most talked-about additions is a programmable illuminated strip built into the rear camera module of the Pro models. The feature is expected to provide visual notifications for incoming calls, messages and interactions with Google’s Gemini AI assistant.

Google has also teased its latest foldable smartphone ahead of the launch, indicating the Pixel 11 Pro Fold will be a key part of this year’s hardware lineup as competition in the foldable market continues to grow.

Wearable technology is also expected to feature prominently, with the Pixel Watch 5 widely tipped for announcement. Leaks suggest the smartwatch will be available in several finishes while introducing new health tracking capabilities, expanded Gemini AI features and increased onboard storage.

Google may also expand its accessory range with the introduction of the Pixel Tag. The rumoured Bluetooth tracker is expected to integrate with Google’s Find Hub network, allowing users to locate misplaced personal items in much the same way as Apple’s AirTag.

While entirely new Pixel Buds are not anticipated, reports indicate Google could refresh its current Pixel Buds Pro 2 by adding a new colour option rather than introducing updated hardware.

This year’s launch event is also taking a different approach. Television host Trevor Noah will front the presentation, with appearances expected from several well-known personalities as Google aims to broaden the appeal of its annual hardware showcase.

Adding further intrigue, Google’s online store appears to indicate that Pixel pre-orders could open several hours before the official presentation begins, potentially revealing full product details well ahead of the live event.

Google’s Made by Google event takes place on 12 August, where Australian pricing, local availability and release dates for the new Pixel devices are expected to be confirmed.
