Google Pay App Lands In Oz

The Google Pay app has landed in Australia with users able to download it from today.

Google is working on bringing G Pay to all Google products from Chrome or with Assistant users can use their account to pay.

The app has a ‘home’ tab with users able to see recent purchases, nearby stores and available rewards. There is also a ‘cards’ tab to organise credit and debit cards, rewards cards and gift cards.

Google is also rolling out a way for public transport users to use the app to tap on and off their transport. So far this function is only available in London.

It is also working on the ability to send and request money similar to what Apple released last year and payment system Venmo. This will be rolled out in the UK and US in a couple of months with no word on when Australia will get this feature.

Earlier this year Google announced it would be merging Android Pay and Google Wallet into one payment service, Google Pay.

Google Pay is available for download on the Google Play app.
