Google Docs Now Automatically Adds Line Numbers To Documents
Google Docs is now able to add line numbers to documents, assigning them to each line, and then configuring them to span an entire document, page, or certain section.
The line numbers are generally used by legal professionals to point out specific pieces of documents, however if you wish to access it, make sure the document is set to paged mode, go to File > Page Setup and choose Pages.
Then go to Tools > Line Numbers > Show Line Numbers to add the numbered lines. Google claims the numbers will also appear on printed documents.
This update prevents the need of having to install third party extensions or create tables to insert line numbers. Microsoft Word has been supporting this feature for a while now.
Google also added some small, useful features including viewing non-printing characters, and an easier way of adding alt text.
