Go Pro Chasing Professional Users With Expanded Range
GoPro has plans to expand its camera lineup in 2022, the company’s founder and CEO has revealed.
Nick Woodman shared the plan during the company’s earnings presentation, saying GoPro wants to move into specialised cameras, to “appeal to entirely different groups of users” than those who favour its two current models: the Hero and the Max.
The plan is to use a lot of the same technology, while tweaking certain elements to attract the professional market. He likened the current lineup to a “Swiss Army knife” whereas the new models would offer “premium solutions”.
Woodman says the company will also offer “new cloud capabilities and an all-new subscription-based desktop application.”
