Getac Unveils G140 Copilot+ PC For Industries Relying On Edge AI In Harsh Conditions
Taiwanese company Getac has unveiled its first AMD-powered fully rugged tablet in Australia and New Zealand, targeting industries increasingly reliant on edge AI in harsh environments.
The new G140 Copilot+ PC combines AI processing capabilities with military-grade durability, as the company expands its rugged computing portfolio to meet growing demand for field-ready devices across sectors such as public safety, automotive and manufacturing.
The G140 is powered by AMD Ryzen AI processors, paired with integrated Radeon graphics and a dedicated neural processing unit delivering up to 50 TOPS of AI performance. This enables real-time data processing and advanced workloads directly on-device, reducing reliance on cloud connectivity for critical operations.
Getac said the launch reflects a shift among enterprise and government customers toward “architectural continuity”, with IT teams seeking hardware that aligns with existing AMD-based systems while supporting next-generation AI applications.

The 14-inch tablet features a 1,000-nit sunlight-readable display, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity and optional 5G support, alongside dual USB4 ports for high-speed data transfer. Designed for extended field use, it includes hot-swappable batteries and multiple mounting options for in-vehicle and hands-free operation.
Durability remains central to the device, with MIL-STD-810H and IP66 certification, drop resistance up to 1.2 metres and an operating range spanning -29°C to 63°C. Despite this, the device weighs just 1.79kg, aiming to balance portability with rugged performance.
Getac says the G140 is suited to frontline scenarios such as emergency response, vehicle diagnostics and factory floor monitoring, where real-time data capture and analysis are critical.
The device joins Getac’s broader Copilot+ PC lineup in the region, which includes both Intel- and AMD-based rugged devices.
The G140 is scheduled to be available across Australia and New Zealand from June.
