Garmin is ramping up its smartwatch software rollout pace, releasing another beta update focused less on flashy new tools and more on stability fixes for its premium wearable lineup.

The company has begun distributing Beta Version 22.34 globally for flagship models including the Fenix 8 series, signalling what appears to be the final stages before a broader public release.

While Garmin has provided few specifics beyond “bug fixes and improvements,” the speed of recent beta releases suggests the company is aiming to polish the software ahead of a stable rollout.

The update is currently available to users enrolled in Garmin’s Beta Program and can be downloaded manually through the smartwatch settings menu.

As with previous beta releases, Garmin has temporarily disabled Dive and ECG features during testing – a common practice but one that indicates development work is still ongoing.

At the same time, Garmin has launched a separate 28.03 beta cycle for its popular mid-range Forerunner range, including the Forerunner 165, 255, 265, 955 and 965.

That update introduces improved audio prompts for interval training and addresses bugs tied to Garmin Run Coach, race events, activity uploads and display settings. Garmin also fixed a crash issue affecting course navigation on the Forerunner 955 and 965.

Garmin’s rapid software cadence is increasingly becoming a competitive advantage in the smartwatch market, particularly as consumers rely heavily on wearables for health tracking, workouts and GPS functionality.
