Focal & Naim Respond To Recent Claims
Shares in Focal and Naim are not being sold to a new investor claims the Ver Vent Audio Group owners of the two audio businesses.
Following our story last week, the Company has responded, claiming that the Company is Unified” in their “Strength and Success” and that the group has a robust roadmap as a direct result of their investment in research and development.
They said that there is “Much more to come in the months and years ahead”.

The Paris based Company did not confirm or deny that Busisoft is set to continue as their distributor in Australia despite our earlier questions to the French Company.
We have also asked Busisoft executives to confirm that they are set to continue as the Australian distributor of the two brands after multiple resellers told ChannelNews that “The whole industry is abuzz “following a rumour that the distribution of Focal and Naim are set to switch to a new distributor.
To date the owners of the Focal and Naim brands have not confirmed whether they have recently conducted a review of their Australian and New Zealand business with one reseller of the brand telling ChannelNews that an Asian based distributor is set to be appointed.
Aurélia Voillot, the Directrice de clientèle in an email to ChannelNews said that in the 2022 financial year the business had revenues of A$249M and profits of $41M Vs A$227M in revenue in the prior year when reported profits were A$38.7M.
In our original story on Focal and Naim we did attribute the wrong person to the CEO role, Christphe Cicaud resigned as CEO, the current CEO is Cedrick Boutonet, who previously was their chief marketing officer.
Nic Merks a consultant to Ver Vent Audio Group wrote to ChannelNews claiming I have read your article (Previous one) about Focal/NAIM with interest. It was nicely written and factually quite correct.
As a former consultant with the company, I have a relatively close relationship with the company.
“Normally with these private equity guys they hold on to their investment for 5 to 6 years and then try to sell at a substantially higher price to the next one. The current ownership is about 3 to 4 years old, so I think such a move, based on the usual behaviour, would be premature”.
Voillot said Beyond products and profitability, the Group continues to grow in other ways, too – from building strong retail relationships to forging exciting partnerships and brand extensions”.
