FaceID Will Recognise Two People Plus Head To iPads

It seems Apple will be soon letting two different people register their faces for its FaceID system.

This wasn’t announced at WWDC this week but according to 9to5Mac, there is a toggle in the FaceID set up page for ‘an alternative appearance’.

The description says, ‘In addition to continuously learning how you look, Face ID can recognise an alternative appearance.’

9to5Mac thinks this new feature has been tailored for the iPad, a device that is more prone to be shared than an iPhone.

iOS developer Guilherme Rambo confirmed this rumour with a recent Tweet showing an iPad able to activate FaceID within the settings menu.

These new features will probably be available in Spring when the new iOS 12 is released.

Earlier this week at WWDC Apple has been unveiling its software for its iPhone, iPad, Macs and Apple Watches. This year it showed its iOS 12 is more about fixing what is already available rather than adding anything new and flashy.
